Thanks.

looks like your gettin all the hottest components, as for the video cards you might want to wait just a bit, the next gen nvidia cards are being released march 26 or so: http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=22702

This is a good system, mines pretty much the same minus the i7 930 (i have the 920) and an ASUS motherboard. I wouldn't bother with an SSD but they are pretty cool.

ssd's are great, but better in pairs. as long as you have a backup hd for storage and/or games then your set

uhm also, go to bing.com - search "hard drive" ..you might be able to get everything at 15% cash back if you buy through tiger direct, just compare prices, sometimes tiger has tax, cant remember if its by state or not. program works great, and 15% off that system would be even nicer.

Or you can pick up the newly announced ATI card.

The Sapphire Radeon HD 5970 Is Faster Than Every Other Graphics Card
http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/17873/1/

http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/4/2010/03/500x_sapphirehd.jpg

The new Sapphire Radeon HD 5970—based upon the acclaimed ATI HD 5970 chipset—is the new world's fastest graphics card. Its 3DMark Vantage score is an insane 22,000.

The overclocked ATI GPU runs at 850MHz, which is supported by 4GB of DDR3 RAM (itself, clocked at 1,200MHz). And all this hardware necessitates three fans an a massive heatsink, making it thicker than your average video card. Outputs include two dual-link DVIs and one mini DisplayPort. Weird that there's no HDMI on here, like the 5870 has.

AMD expects that we'll see the HD 5970 from a variety of different manufactures, which is good because while we have no idea what the thing costs, it won't be cheap.

another snippite

The ATI Radeon HD 5970 slaughters the competition in pretty much every benchmark thrown at it. It's outrageously fast. We're talking five teraflops here, people. Teraflops.

MaximumPC put the 5970 to the test (check out their review here), and found that it lives up to its promise. The 2GB dual-GPU card is the first to support DirectX 11, and basically doubles its wholly respectable predecessor (the 5870) in specs, capable of delivering nearly 5 teraflops of raw processing power. It's a massive card, about a foot long, designed mostly for heat dissipation, at which aim it apparently succeeds. It's also got easy access to overclocking via AMD's OverDrive, and can drive up to three displays simultaneously with a maximum resolution of 7680x1600. So it's pretty much the greatest thing ever, and it's got a pricetag to match: $600 upon its undisclosed release. Yow.

that board supports crossfire and sli. also all parts look good, but I would think twice about the SSD, the life expectancy on those is unknown as of now, just speculations.

we've got a farm of dells using new intel SSD's that have been burning for about a year now, not a single hiccup except for the various SA that fubar's the OS.

indeed your right, i didnt notice that. As for SSD's they are supposed to last a pretty long time. I have one and put it through hell without any problems.

I'd still rather get a 15,000 rpm drive or at least pair it with one because even if you only put your OS and games on it, you will be very pressed for space. But if your ok with that then that's up to you.

Thats the same hdd I bought for my PC. I'm thinking about buying another one and setting up a RAID 0. I don't think you would really notice a difference between 10k rpms and 15k rpms. I think the seek speed is around 2ms or so. I haven't used a solid state drive so I don't know how much better the performance is. The WEI only rates my single sata II hdd 10k rpms at like a 5.9. The rest of my WEI is at 7.4s. Does anyone know the price that the new fermis are going to be? I bought a gtx 275 graphics card because I thought it was the "best bang for buck" when I was also looking at a gtx 285 or 295 and I figured it woud suffice.

I would but I didn't take any pictures of my hdd, sorry. If you do click on that newegg link you can view it there and I think they probably have a couple of screen shots of it.
